'Operation Overexposure' tries to clean-up Saxon Woods
More than a dozen men have been busted in what White Plains police are calling "Operation Overexposure."
Sixteen men from across the tri-state area, including nine from Westchester, have been arrested for public lewdness or forcible touching. The men are accused of meeting other men for anonymous sex at Saxon Woods Park in White Plains.
County police say they're going to continue to have both uniformed and undercover officers where the alleged activity took place and throughout the park until they're able to eliminate this problem.
While many parkgoers were shocked to learn of the illegal sexual activity, for people like Joanna, it confirmed what they knew all along. "Sometimes I see gentlemen coming making their way to the public facility there, or men sitting in their cars, just waiting," said Joanna.
Police say their enforcement has put a dent in this problem but it hasn't eliminated it. That's also one of the reasons why they wanted to be very public about these arrests and give parkgoers renewed confidence knowing police are watching.
