Study renews safety concerns about Indian Point

A new study is renewing safety concerns about Indian Point if an earthquake or tsunami occurred at or near the nuclear plant. According to the study, 5.5 million people would be at a greater risk of having cancer following an earthquake or tsunami.Entergy, the plant?s owner and operator, says those types of incidents are unlikely to happen.

The company is looking to renew its operating licenses, which expire by 2015.
