White Plains woman arrested after bus stop stabbing

Police have arrested a White Plains woman for allegedly stabbing two former high school classmates during a bus stop quarrel last night, sending them both to the hospital. Police say the incident occurred at Mamaroneck and Martine avenues in downtown White Plains when the women approached Christina Hernandez, 18. Hernandez then stabbed them with a box cutter. One woman required emergency surgery and remains in stable condition at White Plains Hospital. The other woman has since been released. Officials at the district attorney's office say they will conclude whether the stabbing was in self-defense. Hernandez is still waiting to be arraigned on assault and weapons charges.
