Autopsy results released in Cross River murder-suicide

Authorities today released the autopsy results in the Cross River murder-suicide, which show that Amy Friedlander died after being bludgeoned, and her two children died from gunshot wounds to the torso.

According to the medical examiner, the Oct. 18 tragedy started with Amy Friedlander being bludgeoned to death with a piece of furniture inside the bedroom she once shared with her husband, Sam Friedlander.

Then, police say 10-year-old Molly Friedlander died at the hands of her father while asleep in her second-floor bedroom.

The girl's 8-year-old brother, Gregory, suffered the same fate before the children's father went down to the basement and took his own life by shooting himself in the head, according to police.

The Friedlanders were going through a volatile divorce. Back in 2006, a heated argument over the children's care brought police to their home, but authorities called it a minor incident.

Amy and her two children will be laid to rest Sunday in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
