Friends of Cross River dad who killed family blame his wife

As police and the entire community of Cross River try to figure out how a father could beat his wife to death and shoot his own children, friends of Sam Friedlander are coming to his defense. Some of Friedlander's friends have been quoted as saying that his wife, Amy, had been berating him for some time and tried to isolate him from their children, which they say may have pushed him over the edge."What kind of behavior that he had to undergo would cause him to kill his own kids?" wonders Friedlander's neighbor Franco Foti. Dr. Jennifer Powell-Lunder, a licensed psychologist, says it's likely that more people like Sam Friedlander's friends will come forward with their own explanations of what may have happened."It's easier for us to give excuses or explanations when the truth is, there really is no explanation or sense to be made," she says. Amy Friendlander's attorney released a statement saying the comments blaming her for the tragedy are both "shameful and untrue."The attorney went on to say that custody issues regarding the Friedlanders' children had been resolved months ago.
