Streets of Yonkers filled with dancing from flash mob

Hundreds of students turned out to sing and dance in the streets of downtown Yonkers to take part in a flash mob.

Getty's Square in Yonkers was rocking for the 12th annual "Light's On," as a part of a nationwide effort to protest the need for after-school programs to keep kids out of trouble.

One million Americans and more than 7,500 communities nationwide are celebrating the importance of after-school programs that keep kids safe, inspire them to learn and help working families.

Students from all five Yonkers high schools took part in Thursday's afternoon's flash mob. The flash mob was such a hit, organizers are hoping it will help recruit more kids into after-school programs.
