Brewster man hurt in Somers trench collapse

A Brewster man is in the hospital after the trench he was working in collapsed, trapping him underground for two hours.

Investigators say it happened at Somers Intermediate School on Route 202. They say Wilmer Guerra-Sagastume, 24, was digging a trench to install a new well when the walls caved in, pinning him under the soil.

Guerra-Sagastume was taken to Westchester Medical Center. There's no word yet on his condition.

Officials from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) are investigating the incident.
