Police: Gun used in triple murder-suicide bought 6 months ago

Police say the gun used by Sam Friedlander to kill his two children before turning it on himself was bought at a Yonkers store six months ago.

Officials say the 12-gauge Remington shotgun was purchased at the All County Sporting Supplies on April 29.

According to printed reports, the owners were "beyond speechless" that the weapon used in the notorious killings was purchased at their store.

Police say that all the proper paperwork was filled out and Friedlander did pass a required background check before the sale went through.

Authorities say Friedlander bludgeoned his wife to death with a piece of furniture on Oct. 18. He used the gun to fatally shoot his two children, ages 8 and 10, and then himself, according to investigators.
