Daylighting project makes historic move
Overnight crews removed a one ton section of old cement covering which blocked the view of the Saw Mill River, which has not been seen since the 1920s.
All together there was 80,000 pounds lifted, reconnecting the new ponds and the river.
Crews are in the process installing a ?storm diversion chamber? to keep the park from flooding during storms.
The construction is a part of a ?daylighting? project, and an official ceremony is expected to take place in December.
