Police: Murder-suicide gun bought in Yonkers

Police say they have learned that the Remington 12-gauge shotgun that Sam Friedlander used to shoot his two children and himself after beating his wife to death was bought in Yonkers.

Cops say Friedlander bought the gun April 29 at All Counties Sporting Supplies on Yonkers Avenue.

Residents say that it is disturbing and a scary thought that the gun was bought in their neighborhood. The owner of the store said he was horrified to learn of the information.

Friedlander had the proper paperwork and a background check before being able to purchase the gun, however residents say it shows stricter gun laws need to be enforced.

Sam Friedlander's body was recovered from the morgue by his brother.
