Federal inspectors probe Somers trench collapse
Safety inspectors from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) are continuing their investigation into a trench collapse in Somers yesterday.
A construction worker, Wilmer Guerra, was buried up to his neck when the trench he was working in gave way outside Somers Intermediate School. The group was working on the school's water system when the walls caved in, trapping Guerra for two hours. Sources say OSHA investigators are likely to question officials at Lehtonen Contracting, which sponsored the trench work.Brewster man hurt in Somers trench collapse
