Selwyn Days guilty of 2 counts of second-degree murder
A jury has found Selwyn Days guilty of two counts of second-degree murder.
Days was on trial for a fourth time in the murder of Eastchester millionaire Archie Harris and his home health aide Betty Ramcharan.
The two were found beaten and stabbed to death in Harris' Berkley Circle home back in November of 1996. Days' DNA was never discovered at the scene, but he confessed on videotape and to his girlfriend.
The defense argued that taped confession was coerced since Days spent several hours in police custody. But on the tape Days says he was honoring his mother, a former employee of Harris, and claimed he sexually abused her.
Days faces 50 years to life when sentenced in December. The defense says it plans to appeal.
