Driver in fatal tour bus crash denies guilt
(AP) - The driver of a tour bus sliced end-to-end by apole in New York City in a horrific March crash that killed 15 peoplereturning from a gambling trip has pleaded not guilty tomanslaughter charges.
Ophadell Williams was indicted Thursday in Bronx State SupremeCourt.
The World Wide Travel bus ran off Interstate 95 at daybreak onMarch 12 as it was returning to Manhattan's Chinatown from anovernight trip to the Mohegan Sun casino in Uncasville, Conn. Thecrash killed 15 people, mostly Chinese immigrants, and injureddozens more.
Williams has maintained he was alert and awake, and that thecrash was touched off when the bus was clipped by atractor-trailer.
