The aftermath of Hurricane Irene continues plaguing the Hudson Valley region.

The first day of classes for Bronxville public schools is now delayed by one day.

The schools were scheduled to open on Tuesday of next week, but are now delayed until Wednesday.

Hurricane Irene flooded out the gymnasium, the cafeteria, classrooms and even outdoor fields.

District officials say kindergarten classes in Bronxville will now start on Sept. 19.
