State officials survey flood damage in Mamaroneck

New York State officials were in Westchester County today surveying the damage done by Hurricane Irene.

New York Secretary of State Cesar A. Perales toured a neighborhood on Hillside and Howard avenues in Mamaroneck this afternoon.

The entire area was flooded when Hurricane Irene hit, and days later the neighborhood is still not back to normal

Curbsides are littered with trash, debris, furniture and destroyed building materials.

Federal disaster aid has already been approved to help people across the Hudson Valley who suffered major damage from the storm.
