18 arrested after soccer brawl in White Plains

Police say 18 soccer players were arrested in White Plains last night after a friendly game turned violent.

According to authorities, a brawl broke out among players at Saxon Woods Park. They say a county police officer was patrolling the area and tried to calm things down when the players turned on him.

Officials say the cop was punched and kicked to the ground, but was fortunately able to call for backup. The situation was then quelled with the help of a Taser.

All 18 players face a felony charge for rioting, while two have also been charged with assault.
