NYSEG: Power expected to be completely restored by tonight

For Jennifer Frank, of Somers, the past week has been a very rough one.

Thanks to Hurricane Irene, she has been without power or running water since early Sunday. She says she has had to run a hose from a neighbor's house just to flush her toilets.

Frank says she has called NYSEG roughly a dozen times a day to get updates, but was repeatedly rebuffed and only told to go to a shelter.

She also says she is worried about a fallen transformer, which she fears may be leaking toxic chemicals onto her front lawn.

NYSEG officials say they hope to have power restored to all their customers by this evening.
