Questions remain in elderly Irvington woman's death

Questions still remain as friends and family mourn the death of an elderly Irvington woman who was missing for more than a month.

The body of 84-year-old Betty Iannerelli, who suffered from Alzheimer's disease, was found on Monday by a groundskeeper in a wooded area on one of the private estates along Matthiessen Park.

The location was less than half a mile from Iannerelli's South Broadway home that she shared with her daughter, and only a quarter of a mile from Main Street, where she was last seen on surveillance video.

The medical examiner's office says Iannerelli's body was badly decomposed when it was found. The office says it is still unclear how or when she died.
