4 Democratic candidates vying for Mt. Vernon mayoral seat

In the most crowded mayoral primary across the Hudson Valley, four candidates are vying to be the mayor in Mount Vernon.

The winner of the Democratic primary is virtually guaranteed to win the general election for mayor as there is no Republican challenger.

Mount Vernon Mayor Clinton Young is looking to be elected to another term while former Mount Vernon Mayor Ernie Davis is looking to reclaim his old seat.

Also looking to unseat Young is City Comptroller Maureen Walker and City Councilman Yuhanna Edwards.

All of the candidates have been focusing on the issue of violent crime and corruption during their campaigns.
