Fundraiser planned for missing Edgemont student

As the search for a missing college student continues in Indiana, her hometown synagogue in Scarsdale has planned a fundraiser this weekend to raise money to help find her.

Indiana University student Lauren Spierer was last seen June 3 after a night spent partying with friends. Massive search efforts across Indiana have yielded no trace of the 20-year-old Edgemont native.

The walk/bike fundraiser is scheduled for Sept. 16 at 11:15 a.m. Organizers are asking participants to gather for a moment of sharing at the Scarsdale Synagogue before a bike ride or walk along the Bronx River Parkway.

Donations will be accepted on behalf of the Indiana University Hillel Foundation's "Help Find Lauren Fund."
