Westchester students to use Web for AP courses

Dozens of local high school students will take advanced placement classes via the Internet this year.

Students from Bedford, Chappaqua, Katonah-Lewisboro, Lakeland, Mamaroneck, Ossining, Peekskill and Yorktown went to the Yorktown BOCES campus for the first time today for a meet and greet to learn what's expected of them as they take courses such as physics, architecture and other electives in a virtual classroom.

The web-based BOCES program is the first of its kind in the region and one of the first in the state.
