NY business leaders talk economics at Purchase College
Ten councils made of up business and education leaders from around the state met today at Purchase College to discuss ways to spur economic growth in New York. The council representing the Mid-Hudson region is focusing on economic opportunities for Westchester, Rockland, Orange, Putnam, Dutchess, Sullivan and Ulster counties. Council members say their challenge is to find creative ways to bring jobs to the region. Once the councils come up with ideas, they'll be able to apply for state funding to support projects deemed to be part of a regional job creation strategy.
