WC Dems lay flood blame at feet of Astorino

Some Democratic legislators looking for a way to prevent widespread flooding are placing the blame on County Executive Rob Astorino (R-Westchester).

The county's Board of Legislators was in Mamaroneck today where they used the flood-prone area as an example of the destruction storms, including Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee, have caused.

The Democrats contend that money promised in 2007 to help mitigate flooding has been cut by Astorino. They also say that money authorized by the board is not being used.

The Astorino administration is expected to present storm water proposals to the County Board next week.
