Body of homeless man found in New Rochelle deli

The owners of Genesi's Deli found the body of a local homeless man in the basement when they came in to open this morning.

Marcia Tineo, one of the owners of the deli on North Avenue, identified the man as Juan, a homeless man who frequented the deli. Residents described him as a nice man who never bothered anyone, and Tineo said the deli workers had been feeding him for about 10 years. They had been letting him stay in the basement, and hadn't seen him since Saturday.

Tineo believes he had been drinking and fell, as his head was bruised. Police are investigating to make sure no foul play was involved.
