1 arrested, 1 hospitalized in hit-and-run

One man has been arrested after allegedly hitting a pedestrian in Yonkers earlier this morning. The incident occurred on the corner of Yonkers Avenue and Oak Street around 4:30 a.m.

According to police, the driver of the car, Wael Ammari, of Yonkers, and the 35-year-old victim got into an argument before the driver ran over the man and took off.

The victim is in stable condition at a local hospital with multiple broken bones. Ammari is being charged with leaving the scene of an accident.
