Fukushima nuclear power plant disaster survivors visit WC

Survivors of the Fukushima nuclear power plant disaster in Japan came to Westchester today with a warning about the potential dangers of Indian Point.

The Japanese delegation was hosted by the Indian Point Safe Energy Coalition, which aims to have the Indian Point power plant shut down.

The nuclear power plant at Fukushima was destroyed by a powerful earthquake-induced tsunami last March.

Massive releases of radiation resulted in mass evacuations. Sachiko Sato, who heads Save the Fukushima Children, says for many, family life has been turned upside down.

The visitors from Japan are demanding that all nuclear power plants, no matter the location, be shut down immediately.
