Larchmont parents on high alert after kidnapping attempt

Parents and students in the Mamaroneck school district are on high alert after a man reportedly tried to lure a 10-year-old boy into his car. Police say the incident happened last Thursday afternoon near Boston Post Road and Bonnett Avenue in Larchmont. According to police, the boy was on his way home from school when approached, but he refused, continued walking and told his parents. Some residents say they are shocked by the reports, adding the incident serves as a lesson. "It just reinforces how you have to keep an eye on kids from point A to point B," resident Amy Fitzgerald says. Police have reportedly said the boy did not see the man's car. Anyone with information is urged to call the Larchmont Police Department (914) 834-1000.
