Suspect in Yonkers gas station robbery turns himself in

Yonkers police say thanks to surveillance video, the suspect in a Gulf gas station robbery has turned himself.

Police say 22-year-old Michael Conti was arrested when he surrendered after robbing the gas station on Tuckahoe Road at around 5 a.m. on Saturday.

Officials say Conti, wearing a wig, is seen on surveillance video asking for cigarettes before taking out his gun and demanding cash. Conti then fights the clerk, who grabs the gun away and proceeds to head-butt Conti, who then runs out of the store.

Investigators say Conti has been charged with robbery. He is also being investigated for possible connections to other recent robberies.
