Spierer's family hires private investigator to help in search
The family of Lauren Spierer has hired a private investigator to help in the search for her in Bloomington, Ind.
Spierer, 20, has been missing since June after she was out partying with friends.
The investigator, former NYPD Detective Richard Dietl, says he has found rampant drug use on the Indiana University campus.
"Kids walk around like night of the living dead," says Dietl. "I mean all stoned out, kids overdosing."
Spierer suffers from a heart condition and a mixture of drugs and alcohol could prove fatal.
Bloomington police say they are also investigating the possibility that Spierer died in an accident and her friends may have tried to cover it up.
