Mom accused of abandoning baby to buy marijuana

A New Rochelle mom is facing child endangerment charges after allegedly leaving her son to buy marijuana in New York City.

Police say Khalish Rice, 25, left her 1-year-old son in his crib to travel to New York City with her friends back in August. Rice was arrested in August for possession and called relatives to check on her son. Police and fire crews had to knock down the door to get inside, where the baby was sleeping.

Rice?s uncle tells News 12 Westchester that the baby has been removed from her custody.
