Yonkers flooding strands bus, cars

Heavy downpours caused flash flooding in parts of Yonkers today, stranding cars and even a public bus. On busy Neppherhan Avenue in northwest Yonkers, fast-rising water stranded several cars and a Bee-Line bus full of passengers. Many riders got off the bus to find other ways to their destinations. Back in August, Tropical Storm Irene left Nepperhan Avenue under several feet of water, forcing evacuations by boat of some stranded nearby residents. News 12 meteorologists are predicting more rain for this evening, so drivers are urged to use caution.
