Plea deal for Tuckahoe woman sparks outrage

Some Tuckahoe residents are shocked and outraged after a woman who admitted to beating her mother to death got a plea deal that would allow her to avoid jail time. Denise Castrocucco, 47, pleaded guilty yesterday to criminally negligent homicide. Prosecutors say she beat her 70-year-old mother so severely that she later died of her injuries.A judge sentenced Castrocucco to time served in jail, which amounted to six weeks, plus five years probation. Some Tuckahoe residents say they're disgusted with the sentence. Others refused to comment on the case because Castrocucco's husband is a convicted member of the Luchese crime family.The district attorney?s office said based on its investigation, Castrocucco?s sentence fits the crime.Tuckahoe woman accused in mom's death gets probation
