National day of service to remember victims of 9/11

Westchester County is calling all volunteers to help take part in a national day of service, remembering the victims of Sept. 11.

On Sept. 9, County Executive Rob Astorino and the non-profit Volunteer Center, are holding a community-wide expo called ?Serve and Learn: Westchester Remembers 9/11.?

They hope to team up hundreds of people who want to volunteer their time with dozens of community non-profits groups in need of help.

The event leads into the weekend of the 10th anniversary of 9/11 terror attacks. Over a hundred county residents lost their lives at the World Trade Center, and the county executive believes there's no better way to honor their memories than through service.
