Dozens of firefighters battle fire in Mohegan Lake

Dozens of firefighters battled heavy smoke and flames at a house in Mohegan Lake, in the town of Yorktown.

The blaze broke out around 10 a.m. on the second floor of the house on Lakeshore Drive.

Firefighters from three different companies were called to the scene. Officials say there were no injuries, and they were able to stop the flames from spreading to nearby houses.

The Lake Mohegan fire chief says there was one person in the house, he tried to put out the fire, but it proved to be too difficult.

A team of investigators is on the scene trying to determine what caused the fire.
