Plan calls for Iona College to work with city, community on growth
New Rochelle Mayor Noam Bramson today announced a new collaboration that will guide Iona College's plans for growth.
Bramson said the city, college and local community will work together "to think through on both the short-term and long-term development on how the college can complement the city's objectives."
Iona College is halting plans to build a controversial new residence hall until the new planning process is complete. The city is also looking to adjust local codes so more students can live in existing dorms.
Community groups are trying to get property owners along North Avenue to make space available for apartments or offices.
