Worker arrested for alleged abuse at Westchester nursing home

A worker at a Westchester nursing home has been arrested amid allegations of abuse.

Police say 40-year-old Merline Bynoe was caught on videotape dropping and hitting a 69-year-old patient confined to a wheelchair at the Dumont Nursing Home in New Rochelle.

Bynoe is currently free on bail. She faces charges of endangering the welfare of an incompetent person, a misdemeanor. If convicted, she faces up to a year in jail.
