Yonkers residents fear gang-related violence is on the rise
Residents say they fear a gang war may be brewing on the streets of Yonkers after a 15-year-old alleged gang member was gunned down Saturday and his cousin was attacked yesterday.
Click "NEXT" below your video player for what experts have to say on the apparent increase in gang-related violence.Steven Saez, who was shot and killed inside a home at 36 Purser Place, was allegedly a member of a gang called "two guns up," which is based out of 47 and 85 Riverdale Ave. A T-shirt that was hung at a makeshift memorial to Saez that reads "loyalty is everything" also has those address numbers on each sleeve.During Saez's funeral there was a heavy police presence, fearing retaliation for the murder could take place. However, just a few blocks away on Palisade Avenue, Saez's young cousin was stabbed in the neck while walking home from the funeral.
Investigators say they are still searching for whoever stabbed Saez's cousin and that they may be close to an arrest in Saez's murder.
