Ex-Yonkers councilwoman in court on corruption charges

The former Yonkers councilwoman who is facing federal corruption charges appeared in a White Plains courtroom today for a pre-trial hearing.

Sandy Annabi is accused of taking bribes in exchange for council votes. Her trial was set to begin back in June, but prosecutors added new indictments and the proceedings are now scheduled to begin in February.

Prosecutors say Annabi accepted $167,000 in bribes to change her votes on two controversial construction developments in Yonkers, including the Ridge Hill development in 2005.

The former politician has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Today's hearing centered on whether Annabi or her attorney had given any privileged information to a disbarred attorney.New court date set for ex-Yonkers Councilwoman Annabi Ex-councilwoman accused of taking bribes faces judgeNew evidence turned over by Annabi in federal bribery case
