Jobs protest held outside Rep. Hayworth's office in WC

A group of protesters gathered outside Rep. Nan Hayworth's (R-District 19) Westchester office today to fight for job creation as the U.S. economy suffered another setback.

Taxpayers say they're also unhappy with the congresswoman's debt-ceiling vote because in six months, Medicare, Social Security and other entitlement programs will be at risk again.

The group, which included protesters from the Communications Workers of America, say it's unfair that seniors spend their lives working and paying into programs that may abandon them at their most vulnerable times.

A spokesperson for Hayworth's office says she was not in her office at the time of the protest and was traveling across Westchester and Orange counties talking about jobs and visiting with small business owners.
