Yonkers police searching for suspects in wake of massive gang raid
Police in Yonkers are still searching for three suspects after a massive gang raid yesterday led to 62 arrests. The FBI and Yonkers police raided 13 locations, rounding up alleged members of several gang organizations. Members of the Elm Street Wolves were arrested, as were members of the Cliff Street Gang. "They retaliated against anyone who dared to encroach on the territory that they controlled," said Janice Fedarcyk, of the FBI. "Retribution took the form of assault or murder by beating, shooting or stabbing." Police say at least one gang member has been charged in the 2009 murder of rival gang member Christopher Cokley. They say he may also be linked to the murder of Stephen Saez, who was shot two weeks ago on Purser Place in Yonkers.
