PBA holds 30th annual picnic for the handicapped

Yonkers police officers are grilling in Yonkers today to help local children who are mentally and physically challenged.

The PBA started the picnic for the handicapped more than 30 years ago with merely 30 people in attendance. Today, there are more than 250 people expected to show up at Redmond Field to have a good time.

Organizers say members of Camp Pride and the mentally disabled will enjoy an afternoon full of music and activities such as painting, tossing a football around, and arts and crafts.
