Shots fired for 3rd straight night in Mount Vernon
Mount Vernon police are on guard after gunfire erupted on the streets for three straight nights.
Authorities say they received reports of shots being fired in the area of North High Street just before 10 p.m. yesterday. No one was reported injured, but police did find 13 shell casings at the scene.
On Monday, Gloria Nartey, 27, was fatally shot in the head on South 12th Avenue. On Tuesday, an unidentified 18-year-old was shot in the foot in a drive-by shooting on South 15th Avenue.
Police have set up a mobile command center in the area of South 12th Avenue. They say no arrests have been made in any of the incidents.
