Wicked weather floods WC roadways

Heavy rains lashed across Westchester yesterday, flooding local roadways and rendering many of them impassable.

In New Rochelle, clogged storm drains made some roads seem more like rivers, with water two feet deep at places.

A large tree toppled onto the Saw Mill River Parkway near Route 119 in Elmsford around 10:30 p.m. last night. Traffic was snarled for hours as crews worked to remove it.

The wet weather has spilled over into Monday, and drivers are urged to take it slow on the slick roadways this morning.
