Police search IN landfill for evidence in missing student case

Police and FBI agents have begun searching a western Indiana landfill for evidence about the disappearance of Lauren Spierer.

Spierer, 20, an Edgemont native, disappeared more than two months ago while returning from a party near Indiana University.

Police say they will be searching the Sycamore Ridge Landfill in Pimento, Ind., about 60 miles from Bloomington.

Officials say all of the trash from the area ends up at that landfill and they say they will employ a team of 20-30 officers for up to two weeks to sift through the trash while looking for evidence.
