Murder charge rescinded after victim put back on life support

In a bizarre incident in Newburgh, officials had to rescind a murder charge after the victim was put back on life support.

Officials say they charged 35-year-old Pedro Brown with murder after doctors took 39-year-old Abraham Brennan off life support yesterday and pronounced him dead. They say Brennan was left brain dead after a brutal beating last week.

However, doctors say they chose to place Brennan back on life support after finding out he was not an organ donor as previously believed.

By placing Brennan back on life support it forced police to rescind the murder charge against Brown.

Brown and two other men are being held on gang charges at the Orange County Jail.
