Police search for suspects who opened fire in Yonkers

Yonkers police continue to investigate why gunshots rang out at Nepperhan Community Center on Warburton Avenue Monday night.Ironically, the gunfire happened during a midnight league basketball game, which was started to keep kids off the streets and out of trouble.

Police say they are investigating surveillance video which shows a group of young men opening fire at the league's semi-final game.

Hundreds of spectators who were in attendance rushed from the center in a panic.

Jim Bostic, who runs the center and is the head of the Yonkers anti-gang violence coalition, says the shooting may have been gang-related, and the suspects were trying to settle a feud.

Investigators found a semi-automatic weapon and shell casings near the center's parking lot.

They say no one was hurt and no one has been arrested.
