Streets of Mamaroneck flooded

Streets are flooded around the area as the Hudson Valley feels the effects of Hurricane Irene.

In Mamaroneck, where a mandatory evacuation was ordered, Center Avenue was completely underwater. Many of the roads were empty through the overnight, as most residents heeded warnings to stay indoors.

Along with the rain, high winds caused some downed tree branches and thousands of outages in the area.
