Irene brings dangerous conditions to Yonkers

Hurricane Irene has brought dangerous conditions to Yonkers and other parts of the Hudson Valley.

States of emergency have been declared in many towns and villages. Hurricane and storm warnings remain in effect.

In Yonkers, many cars were stuck on flooded streets. Officials say residents shouldn't venture out because the depth of floodwaters can be deceiving. On Nepperhan Avenue, which is closed at various parts, water measured 2 feet deep at one point. It has since receded slightly.
