Police: Man killed trying to save child in Spring Valley

Hurricane Irene lashed out in Rockland County, killing a man in Spring Valley and severely injuring two other people, including a 6-year-old boy.

Police say that a man was killed trying to save a young child. Officials say that it appears that the little boy came into contact with a live electrical wire leading two men to rush to his rescue. The boy and one of the men were badly burned in the incident. The other man was pinned under the live wire during the rescue and died on the scene.

The man and the child were taken to Westchester Medical Center. There has been no word on their conditions. INTERVIEW: Director of Rockland emergency services
