Metro-North restores service on some lines

Officials with Metro-North Railroad announced today that service was being restored to some lines following the complete shutdown ahead of Hurricane Irene over the weekend.

Officials say the full Hudson line is running and will operate on a regular schedule on Tuesday.

On the Harlem line, service is running south of the North White Plains station.

Officials say that flooding, downed trees and wires as well as mudslides are keeping crews from reopening the northern section of the Harlem line.

According to New Jersey Transit, the Pascack Valley line will run Tuesday but the Port Jervis line will remain suspended indefinitely.
